Australian Researchers Dr. Hamid Arandiyan, Vice-Chancellor’s Research Fellow, School of Chemical Engineering and Mr. Edgar Wong, Ph.D., UNSW Vice-Chancellor’s Research Fellow from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia visited PRINT-G on 26th September 2017. The main purpose of the visit is to have an outline of the research taking place in Print-g and possibility of collaboration between UNSW, Australia and Print-g, Indonesia.    The Director of Print-G Dr. Eng. I Made Joni and Dr. Eng. Camellia Panatarani warmly received the researchers to Print-G. Followed by that Dr. Eng. I Made Joni presented the summary of the research work going on in Print-G, and the collaborations with other departments in Unpad, Industrial collaborations were also discussed.

Dr. Hamid Arandiyan and Mr. Edgar Wong visited the laboratory and had a brief discussion about the various processing techniques such as Beads Milling, Nanobubble Technology, Pulse combustion spray pyrolysis etc. Discussion about the preparation of TiO2 for application in Paint industry and preparation of chitosan from the animal shell was also discussed.

Mr. Edgar Wong was much interested in the preparation and modification of chitosan material and discussed about the possible collaboration of Print-g with his laboratory in Sydney. He also availed the chitosan processed in Print-G for doing the preliminary studies and possible modifications for its applications in biological systems. Mr. Edgar Wong also discussed about the Doctoral exchange program between UNPAD, Indonesia and UNSW, Australia.

Dr. Hamid Arandiyan delivered the outline of research activities in his laboratory and their recent publications, analytical facilities existing with a brief presentation, followed by discussion. The visit was fruitful for both the sides and it was decided that the further discussion regarding the progress of the material modification, applications and documentation of the results will be communicated through E-mail.
